During the ceremony
Take pictures, just do it. Use your judgement about when is appropriate but generally as long as we don’t get a constant blitz it’s fine. If you want to move about, you are free to do so, just try to do it as discreetly as possible. the priest has said it’s totally fine to go up on the balconies at the side and rear, so go for it! Flash is ok too, if anyone is wondering.
We’ll ask at least one person to do a little more… It’s possible to walk around by the altar and take pics facing us while we do our bit. Would be really cool if one person can do that.
After the ceremony
Again we’d like everyone to go nuts with their cameras. We’ll go round to the side of the church where we’ll do our best to get various pictures with different people and groups. After this, we’ll go off and get some “portrait” shots. For this we just want to invite a few people along, preferably those with SLRs… We’ll just wander around the old town to various hot spots. We’d appreciate not having 70 people follow us for this, but if you go for a tour of the old town no doubt we’ll bump into each other.
Comments(2) Flights from Stansted to Oslo Rygge are currently £9.99 each way with no taxes for the entire week before and after the wedding… That means around £35 return if you travel hand luggage only (easily possible for a weekend).
Stansted is not the easiest airport for most to get to – but for the sake of a bit of driving (2 hours from Brum) and a few quid to park the car (use offsite parking and pay about £20 for a weekend) it’s well worth it! The other benefit is that you’ll fly to Rygge – which is only 20mins from Fredrikstad and an hour from Oslo – so if you are doing (for example) Friday to Monday we will all be in Fredrikstad and can probably pick people up/drop off to/from the airport! That means you have a much easier journey at this end.
There are 2 flights a day every day and so far all the advertised flights are the same price, and all tax free! Don’t delay, book your flight today!

Based on some feedback from my mom and Steve I have updated the accommodation page. It seems like there will be little chance of staying at the old town inself (unless camping is your preference) but there are plenty of hotels with room in the city, just across the water. The rates are coming in at between 700Kr and 1200Kr but most hotels also include breakfast, and there are some where triple rooms are available, which brings the cost down considerably.
I’ve also mentioned that we may be able to source some accommodation through friends/family – this will be limited but we want everyone to be able to come to the wedding so will do our best to get everyone a bed/floor if necessary!
I’ve added some details about the various airports in/around Oslo to the transport page – please check it out before booking your flights as a small amount of travelling in the UK may save you a bit of time/money when you land in Norway! There are 3 airports to choose from, all with pros and cons – so do a bit of research to match up a UK airport with one of the Oslo ones, the closest aiport in the UK may not necessarily mean the shortest overall journey, and parking/transfer in the UK is generally much cheaper than the extra travelling you may need to do in Oslo.
Also there is no sign of the Birmingham route opening up, however it’s worth holding out for a couple of weeks, I was told it was seasonal and would be back in March! They are already advertising flights that are commencing in May, so I’m not holding my breath for this one.
